Micro-Dentistry is the philosophy and practice of detecting and treating decay as early as possible, of removing as little tooth structure as possible, and of making the smallest possible restorations that are aesthetically pleasing and long lasting. No needles, no drill, no numb mouth.

Micro-Dentistry is a type of laser that has been introduced to replace the drill in many filling procedures. Micro-Dentistry uses a stream of ultra fine particles, often like an airbrush, to remove decay. On the teeth it is:

• Painless
• Noiseless
• “Novacaine-less”
• Creates much stronger bonding
• Causes much less damage to the healthy tooth than does drilling

Combined with more sophisticated diagnostics, we can now find and treat decay when it is much smaller. Several methods are beginning to allow healing (reversal) of early decay, making surgical treatment unnecessary.
